For starters, I like to design drawers so that the front doesn't fall off. That's why every one of our drawer fronts is attached to a sturdy four-sided box. It also means that they fit in the space they are supposed to.
It's always silly little things that get on my nerves, like drawers that stick and jam. I insist on steel runners on all our drawers, they glide effortlessly without catching and never stick, squeak or jam.
We always use nickel-finished hinges for extra durability. Not that you'll see them, we always cover them so clothes don't snag.
There are four adjustable hinges on every wardrobe door. Now you might think that's a bit excessive, and I suppose it is if you aren't bothered about your doors hanging perfectly straight.
We use oval hanging rails. Now I could tell you all about their superior strength, but I'm sure you'd rather hear how snugly the coat hanger fits on to them.
