We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead and support our Account Payable team, ensuring the accurate, timely, and efficient management of all supplier and self-employed payments. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining structures processes, overseeing daily team activities, and fostering a high-performing, knowledgeable team that reflects the standards and values of the organisation.
In this role, you will manage day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, provide coaching and development to team members, and act as a key point of escalation for complex queries. Attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism will be essential as you ensure financial accuracy, support smooth operational workflows, and drive continuous improvement, demonstrating our commitment to excellence, collaboration, and quality in everything you do.
What you'll be doing:

Oversee day-to-day Accounts Payable team activities, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with deadlines and company policies.
- Lead, coach, and develop Account Payable team members, providing regular feedback, training, and support to enhance performance and career progression.
- Identify skills gaps and implement development plans to build a high-performing, knowledgeable team.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of best practices within the Accounts Payable function.
- Serve as a key escalation point for Accounts Payable queries, providing guidance and resolution support to the team and stakeholders as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and promote data accuracy.
- Produce, review, and distribute Accounts Payable reports to key stakeholders across the business.
What you will bring:

Proven experience in managing or supervising an Accounts Payable or finance team.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end Account Payable processes, indlucing supplier management, invoice processing, and payment operations.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to act as a reliable escalation point for complex queries.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative and effective communicator, able to work across teams and departments.
- A proactive, results-oriented approach, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles.
- Advances Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and IF formulas.
- Desirable but not essential: AAT, CIMA, or ACCA qualifications & Access Evo, Financials and Financial Operations.
Your Working hours/ pattern will be:

Working hours: Options include 8:00-16:00, 8:30-16:30, or 9:00-17:00, with the schedule arranged to suit the candidate

Competitive salary – £37,000-£40,000
