A Love It or List It Transformation

In January 2024, Hammonds were lucky enough to be a part of Gill and JJ's renovation journey on the Channel 4 TV show, Love It or List It. We helped them design a multi-functional room, a home office and a small dressing area so that they could really make the most of all of their spaces.

Why did you choose Hammonds?

"We looked at working with lots of other fitted furniture companies and even considered doing something with a local carpenter but after hours of research we kept coming back to Hammonds. A neighbour had used them and raved about their service from start to finish and they weren't wrong! Reputation, quality and the bespoke personable approach was what led us to taking the plunge. Once we had met Amy, our designer, we knew we had made the right decision - nothing was too much trouble and her level of experience was gold dust. We loved the collaborative approach with her and the two colours we chose sealed the deal."

What were your spaces like before your room transformations?

"The office and multi-functional rooms were dull, white, blank canvases that needed plenty of thought and colour to bring them to life. The dressing room area was fairly small and very awkward and Kirstie had identified the need for some very clever design to make best use of the space."

How would you describe your interior style?

"My interior style is classic, warm and practical. We love organised spaces but they need to be inviting, homely and timeless too. Hammonds Cobalt Blue and Heritage Green paired beautifully with the William Morris theme and ensured our house became a home."

Why is organisation important to you?

"As a busy family of four it is vital we have practical and organised spaces that ensure the flow of life is easier. The flexibility of the office and the multi-functional room enable us all to have work spaces and for the children to have somewhere to study, hangout and a guest room as and when needed. The office is ideal for me to start-up my educational consultancy as the there is enough space for a client and me as well as being an ideal backdrop for a zoom call. There is a place for everything and everything in its place. The icing on the cake it finally having somewhere to indulge my love of clothes and be organised in the walk-in wardrobe."

What are the best things about your new rooms?

"Quite simply they have made our home. They have brought much needed colour, style and organisation that will stand the test of time. JJ and I finally know where all our paperwork is and Bea and Ted at last have an organised space for all of their art, craft, toys and games, whilst having the flexibility to use the space differently as and when we need to. All this whilst having two beautiful colours that give warmth and soul to our home."
