Why did you choose Hammonds?

"We visited the Nottingham showroom a few years ago and were immediately sold on the Cliveden in Peony with the brass accents. They have it showcased at the front of the store, it’s the first thing you see through the window and it was an immediate yes from me."

 

What was the space like before you had the transformation?

"It had a couple of cupboards but the whole space was wasted really, we wanted to really optimise storage which is why we went for floor to ceiling cupboards. It was very dull and beige in there before so the Peony colour has warmed the room up and just completely transformed it. "

 

How would you describe your interior style?

"I find myself leaning towards traditional interior choices since we moved into our family home to keep in style with it’s Victorian period features. But with a mix of modern style - so perhaps my interior style is more transitional than traditional. "

 

Is organisation important to you? If so, why?

"Yes! Particularly in a wardrobe - I’ve never had so much storage space for clothing before and I’m wearing pieces I haven’t worn for years now because I can actually see everything organised properly in the wardrobes."

 

What is the best thing about your new space?

"The colour. I’m so happy we were brave with the colour - the Peony is the perfect dusky pink. Also, my dressing table - an absolute dream come true. AND the window seat - I knew I wanted drawers under the window but the wrap around upholstered window seat to match my dressing table stool was all the Hammonds designer’s idea and it really has made the corner feel incredibly so yet so bespoke. "

 

How has your furniture had a positive impact on your life?

"Enormously. To be able to organise everything from my clothes to my shoes to my makeup properly, everything with its own space is a dream come true. I’m no longer cramming clothes into small spaces, more hanging space has been life changing for being able to see everything I own. It feels like peak adulting having the dressing room of my dreams. I don’t think it will be long before we have Hammonds back out to design our eaves storage in our newly converted loft conversion!"
