A key consideration was storage space as Jennifer explained: “Because Daye is an energetic four-year old, he loves playing with his toys and he has lots of them!
“When I had my offer accepted on the house I started to think about where it might be good to add in storage, so for instance the alcoves in Victorian houses are the perfect places to introduce storage solutions that are in keeping with the room aesthetic.
Initially, she had heard about Hammonds through word of mouth but thought that it would be too expensive as she needed a lot of fitted furniture, in her lounge, kitchen, master bedroom and Daye’s room. However, once she had seen the many different looks that were available in the Hammonds range and got an idea of the price points, she was really surprised by how economical they turned out to be.

What to expect from a design visit
Try out lots of options
‘At Hammonds, we create designs on the computer in front of you, rather than drawing the plan on paper as some firms do. That means you can try out lots of different ideas until you feel totally confident in your decision. We’ll even take a photo of your wallpaper and carpet and upload them to the 3D plan, so you can really imagine how different your room could be.
Prepare to be surprised
'A designer can show you solutions you didn’t know were possible,’ says Tom. ‘For example, you might have a sloping ceiling and think hanging space isn’t an option for you, but we can design cupboards that include a low hanging rail with shelves above for folded clothes or bedding.

The components of your built-in bedroom cupboards will be delivered either with your fitter or ahead of the fitting date. The fitter will liaise with you ahead of the fitting date.

Fantastic set of wardrobes and matching chest of drawers and bedside cabinets.
Recently had some house improvements done and the last major thing to do was update the old sliding wardrobe mirror doors and old bedroom furniture. My partner had been recommended Hammonds by a few of her clients so we decided to take a look as there was a sale on at the Crawley store. We met Mahmoud and with no real sales pressure he talked us through all the different options available. He was clearly an experienced salesperson as he was very professional, listened well and wasn’t just in it to sell the most expensive product. We booked in for our designer to visit and so we met Heather who again was excellent in what she did. She had some great views on what could be achieved in the space after listening to what we had previously discussed with Mahmoud and then added some of her own views. Heather worked her magic on the laptop to come up with a great design and then gave us the best price she could. It was over our original budget but we loved what we were going to get for our money and it looked great quality. What was also attractive was the no payment required for 4 months after the work had been completed. So after some thinking about it we signed on the dotted line and got told it would be about 6 weeks before installation. The night before the installation we received a text from our installer Christopher introducing himself and what to expect the next day and the time he would arrive. So that went down very well with us both as communication is critical when it comes to things like this. We messaged back informing Chris of some house rules and he replied straight away saying no problem. Chris arrived on time the next morning, only worked for Hammonds for a few months but you never would have known it. He was so polite, smiley and good natured we had a good feel it was going to be a good installation. Only negative was our delivery didn’t arrive until after 10am which frustrated Chris a bit but you never would have known. He just got on with carrying all the boxes up the stairs and he never once scraped the newly decorated walls or staircase, impressive as there were lots of boxes, big heavy and all sizes. Originally we were put off by the thought of all work being completed in the bedroom but to be honest it worked perfectly. Chris worked right through the day, we kept him fed and watered and had passing the time chats with him which were enjoyable and interesting. At the end of the first day he explained where he had got to and what the plan would look like on day 2…so far so good!! Day 2 again Chris arrived on time and after a quick chat disappeared up to the bedroom to continue. After a few hours he wanted our thoughts on handle positioning and which way the wardrobes were going to open etc, mirror placement and things like that. Chris gave his own ideas and we actually went with his as I sad if my partner didn’t like them I could blame them on him. At the end of the job Chris cleared up expertly, all rubbish was taken down stairs, again with no damage to decoration and stored ready for collection in a few days time. Chris then allowed us to thoroughly check all the units for damage and everything we found only little things the response was give me 30 mins and I’ll fix all that and if I can’t then we will replace it. Pleased to say everything was fine and an excellent job by Chris was completed and we were both delighted. Well done Hammonds on attracting Chris to your business he’s a true asset please look after him. The next day we received a courtesy call from Hammonds asking if we were happy with everything and were there any problems. Another nice touch from a quality operator. A few days later we had the carpet installed and whilst in the room we saw some paint droplets that must have happened when Chris did our fault list. I messaged Chris that night expecting to be told call the head office etc not in the slightest. Chris said he would pop down the next morning to correct it and so he did. Again smack on time 1 cup a tea later everything was 100% and what’s even more impressive was that he was actually day off now that’s impressive Customer Service giving total customer satisfaction. Exceptionally well done to Chris first and foremost and then all the representatives of Hammonds namely Mahmoud and Heather. Hopefully we will get great satisfaction out of our new furniture for many years to come.

Had my Hammonds bedroom wardrobes fitted today. The process from start to finish was so easy. From the first phone call to book a appointment, to the end product.
