A key consideration was storage space as Jennifer explained: “Because Daye is an energetic four-year old, he loves playing with his toys and he has lots of them!
“When I had my offer accepted on the house I started to think about where it might be good to add in storage, so for instance the alcoves in Victorian houses are the perfect places to introduce storage solutions that are in keeping with the room aesthetic.
Initially, she had heard about Hammonds through word of mouth but thought that it would be too expensive as she needed a lot of fitted furniture, in her lounge, kitchen, master bedroom and Daye’s room. However, once she had seen the many different looks that were available in the Hammonds range and got an idea of the price points, she was really surprised by how economical they turned out to be.

What to expect from a design visit
Try out lots of options
‘At Hammonds, we create designs on the computer in front of you, rather than drawing the plan on paper as some firms do. That means you can try out lots of different ideas until you feel totally confident in your decision. We’ll even take a photo of your wallpaper and carpet and upload them to the 3D plan, so you can really imagine how different your room could be.
Prepare to be surprised
'A designer can show you solutions you didn’t know were possible,’ says Tom. ‘For example, you might have a sloping ceiling and think hanging space isn’t an option for you, but we can design cupboards that include a low hanging rail with shelves above for folded clothes or bedding.

Bookshelves and cupboards
Hammonds installed bookshelves and cupboards in our new extension. Everything went very well from our initial visit to one of the shops to see the product through to the design visit, the survey and the installation. We found the suggestions from the surveyor very helpful and the installer paid particular attention to detail. We are very pleased!

So near to a perfect 5* experience
Having previously had Hammonds bedroom furniture installed, we were happy to once more provide our custom. In overview, experience was positive from start to finish but fell just short of a perfect 5* experience... Our initial consultation with Nathan was informative and helped us to realise our requirements & the options available. He was honest in his opinions & actively sought to meet our expectations We were less impressed with your surveyor, who failed to appear on first occasion and offered no apology on the day or subsequently.... first impressions go a long way and barely improved upon the re-arranged visit. Fortunately, the Hammonds brand was redeemed by the excellent service provided by Ollie, who installed the bedroom furniture ... he was polite, personable, prompt, efficient, taking care to install furniture to the highest standards. When issues arose during the installaton, where our expectations as agreed and shown in design plans and survey could not be met, as not being achievable or were not shown as part of installation, he took time to explain reasons, options available to us and ensured that we were involved and happy in decisions made. In conclusion, we are very happy with the completed installation and would recommend Hammonds to family and friends... thank you!

Second time using Hammonds.
Second time using Hammonds. We were very happy with the first service we received from Hammonds, happy again this time. Compared to other companies I spoke with and got quotes from, Hammonds were quick enough to start the project and finish it within a month and a half. Also the price was very good as well. Good communication with customer's service. They called me 20 min before the fitter arrived as I wasn't at home and that was very helpful Ben was great. Done the job very professionally. I have two more projects that need doing at home and will definitely use Hammonds again
