Great installers and end product, but the design stage needs work
Ultimately, I am very happy with the final product, but the company has room for improvement in its early stages. The installers are great, highly practical, proactive, and dedicated to solving any issues that arise on site. However, the design stage needs significantly more focus. The designer should take more time to thoroughly consider what works, explore different options, and iron out the kinks in the proposed layout. While there is a secondary survey stage intended to catch gaps, the initial design service should be much stronger. All the issues we encountered were tied to the initial proposal, leaving us to spot and correct the gaps ourselves. If the designers took more time to visualize how the design truly fits into the rooms, it would greatly streamline the process. Additionally, the firm needs to be more transparent about the practicalities of installation. A lot of furniture customization happens onsite, requiring a substantial amount of cleared space. None of this is made clear until the installers contact you right before their visit, which could definitely be managed better. In the end, the product is good, but that is largely thanks to the excellent installers bringing it to life. A stronger design process and better communication regarding installation requirements would make this a much better experience.

Delighted with the ‘Under Stairs Storage
Delighted with the ‘Under Stairs’ storage - it makes what was a cramped space much more useable. The fitter/Joiner, John Thompson, was great - obviously takes a real pride in his craftsmanship and such a nice guy with it. Brilliant!

Very efficient design service.
The Design Consultant arrived on time and explained all the options available to us. Jason listened to our ideas and gave good design advice. He was able to design the furniture during the visit and adjust it according to our needs. We were also able to select the finish and approve the design.

Media Wall Installation
Media Wall Installation Summary The end to end service provided by Hammonds has been excellent. Design Visit The initial design visit was thorough, with no high pressure sales techniques. The design process was quick and flexible to meet my needs. Payment I chose to pay a deposit which enabled me to select an installation date of my choosing. Final payment to be made after completion. Survey Once I was ready to proceed, a second visit was made by a dedicated surveryor to double check the measurements taken at the Design Visit stage. The surveyor analysed the design plan and spotted a potential flaw which was then rectified on the spot. Installation The installer, Gavin, provided good comms ahead of the installation date, checked that there was space to park and that the room was clear of obstructions. Gavin arrived on time and ensured that the flooring from the house entrance to the living room was protected. We then ran through the design and whoosh, the installation began. The total installation time finished slightly ahead of schedule and the quality of workmanship was first class. Gavin made sure I was happy before leaving. Summary Great product, great service, friendly installer, fair price! I was impressed enough to book another design visit, this time for a built in wardrobe in a bedroom. I highly recommend Hammonds!

Frequently asked questions
All our fitted furniture is made to measure and customised inside and out, so there's no set price for our walk-in wardrobes. The final cost will depend on a variety of things, including size, storage options and the style you choose. At Hammonds, we're committed to unrivalled quality at the best possible prices, so you can be sure you're getting the most for your money.
Flexible layouts are best for walk-in wardrobes, ensuring all your possessions have a home and are organised in a way that simplifies daily dressing. We recommend combining shelving, drawers and hanging rails to maximise storage space, set around a central dressing area. If space allows, you could invest in walk-in wardrobe furniture such as a chair or dressing table.
The most common mistake we see with wardrobe design is not making the most of the space. Thinking vertically can double the amount you're able to store, and corner shelving and pull-out racks ensure no room is wasted while keeping your belongings accessible. Our expert team will be able to advise on the best options for your walk-in wardrobe design to ensure it works well for you.
