The brief

Clare Mackintosh, author of I LET YOU GO, a Sunday Times Top Ten Best Seller and I SEE YOU a Sunday Times number 1 bestseller, picked Hammonds Furniture for her bedroom transformation, after relocating to the idyllic Bala in the Welsh Lake District. Our expert designers recommended a range that suited her beautiful classic home that gave it the modern uplift to match her contemporary decoration.

Range: Harpsden | Finish: Light Praline

Working from home means the bedroom needs to be a sanctuary of calm, away from the busy home office. Clare’s bedroom is across the landing from the office, on the expansive first floor of the property. The contrast between work and downtime is very apparent as the bedroom breathes new life into the soul as soon as you enter.

The Harpsden bedroom has been designed to incorporate the high ceiling, making the most of the space available. Shaker style doors with intricate beading on the frame adds to the contemporary look of the room.

Clare is very creative, not only as a writer but a budding interior designer. Her confidence with colour and pattern brings this once dated property, right up to date.

Clare was really happy with her finished bedroom, the design matching well with the classic property but with a modern edge too. Why not book a design visit to discover how a Hammonds Fitted bedroom could look in your home.
