Product and staff that visit your home great, customer service not so good

We recently moved into a new house with no storage. The Hammonds designer, surveyor and fitters were all superb. I had a corner wardrobe, a run of floor to ceiling wardrobes and a storage wall in the study fitted. The choice of colours, style and options was good. The quality was not quite what I expected, lots of chipboard, expected better quality for the price. That said the finished product looks excellent and has been perfectly fitted into the space. On the negative side once everything was ordered and deposits paid the customer service was not great. I was given fitting dates week commencing 11 August so didn’t plan holidays until I got firm dates. When I called for information on fitting dates I was promised they would look at firm dates and get back to me but no one ever did. Eventually, after much chasing, I got a fitting date of 23 August and 25/26/27 August. Right over the bank holiday weekend and grandson’s 3rd birthday. If I didn’t accept those dates it would be have been even longer to wait living out of cardboard boxes so I had little option. To get my furniture fitted in August as promised Hammonds used fitters from another area which meant they had a long drive in and out each day. As mentioned everyone who we had contact with was great. Customer service not so good. They should not have given me an early August fitting date if they could not deliver. Wasted a complete month for us as we couldn’t schedule anything in case the fitters were due then even lost the bank holiday weekend as did the fitters. Good experience let down by customer services.

The fitter was very good,and the fitment looks great,but trying to get in touch with your company was awful,l was on the phone yesterday four times trying to you reach you,each time hanging on for approx 20_25 mins. The goods were sent to another location they should have arrived last Friday,but turned up Tuesday afternoon,we had the fitter waiting around for 4 hrs . 5stars for the fitter and the fitment,3 to 4 stars for trying to get in contact with the company
