Great furniture, bumpy journey.
We’re really happy with the quality of the furniture as well as the design and fitting. However it was a bit of a bumpy journey to get there. We had our design appointment which was great and honest, explaining clearly what we could do with the space without compromising on practicality. We had another design appointment with a competitor who we feel didn’t give us the same honesty or understanding of how we wanted to use the space. We were quoted a price which was a lot of money (even with the ‘discounts’ applied) but was still lower than the competition and we really liked the design. We informed the designer that we worked term time so were limited with our dates for fitting and he said that the availability was good on our preferred week so we went ahead with the order. Closer to the time we were told our preferred week wasn’t available and that it had been arranged for the week after which didn’t work for us. It took almost a week of back and forth to get this resolved with it having to be arranged for a weekend. When that weekend rolled around we were informed on the morning that the fitter was unwell and wouldn’t be coming (these things happen) and that Hammonds were unable to cover this at such short notice. The fitting then took place 4 days later than planned which delayed other plans such as decorating and replacing the carpet. The fitter (Richard) was great when he arrived and just cracked on with the job to a high standard. He ensured the house was clean and tidy and minimised any mess. So overall really happy with the wardrobe, it was just the organisational things in between that lost the 5th star.
