A Painted Kitchen Design with an Island

Kitchen Pickering Highbury 10

The brief

The Pickering couple envisioned an open plan kitchen diner with an island to make the most of the wide space with lots of light. They chose Hammonds to help make their dream kitchen come to life.

Range: Highbury | Finish:

After visiting the Nottingham showroom they were very impressed with the fitted kitchen displays, especially the painted Highbury, and booked a design visit for their home.

The Hammonds designer worked with the couple from architecture’s plan to create a kitchen design that ticked their brief but also went above and beyond. Mrs Pickering knew she wanted an island, plate racks and deep drawers so the expert kitchen designer Ed Reid was able to work with their requests to tailor this in. He suggested ideas that would work well with the couple such as an easy to clean porcelain sink.

On the design visit Ed brought with him the collection of worktop samples to begin their decision making process. They decided on an easy to maintain laminate wood effect worktop for each counter surface. The designer recommended an induction hob which the couple had not used before but are thrilled with it. Integrated into the kitchen design was clever storage solutions that impressed the couple including corner Le Mans cupboards and neat bin cupboards.

The fitters were timely and the project manager ensured it was finished to an exceptional standard, even replacing doors with minor imperfections that we didn’t even notice. We thought it was going to be too expensive compared with other competitors but in actual fact it wasn’t more expensive which was great. We were very impressed by the whole experience.
